Communication
We offer the possibility to contact members, respectively institutions, of the EMA on our website via e-mail, such as the Melanchthon Association (Melanchthonverein), the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the European Melanchthon-Academy (Verein der Freunde u. Förderer der Europ. Melanchthon-Akademie) as well as the Melanchthon Pupil Award Foundation (Melanchthon-Schülerpreis-Stiftung).
In this case the data supplied by the user is saved for the sole purpose of processing your inquiry and possible further questions. Personal data will not be supplied to third parties or combined with other data sources. We draw your attention to the fact that data transmission via internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may involve gaps in security. Thus it is not possible to protect such data completely against access by third parties.
Access Data / Server Log Files
Host Europe GmbH as operator of the web server records the following data:
- date and time of access
- full IP-address of the accessing device
- file retrieved or function with call method (GET or POST)
- protocol used
- result of the search (HTTP status)
- number of bytes transferred
- Error Log file additionally records the occurred error.
Log entries may be handed over to public authorities if regulated by law, for example in case of prosecution or emergency response.
For the purpose of optimization and troubleshooting only anonymized log files are made available to us in which the last 3 bytes of the IP-address are replaced by x. Apart from this they comprise the same data as the log files which can only be seen by the operator, Host Europe GmbH. These anonymized log files are kept on the web server for a period of 4 days.
Social Media Sites
This website links to various social media sites. These are designed in such way that data will only be transmitted after your consent is given or an actual activity is undertaken (share of links). When activating social media sites please observe the respective data protection regulations.
Use of Facebook
When visiting our websites a direct connection via plugin is made between your browser and the Facebook server. Thus Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP-address. If clicking the Facebook „like-button" while being logged on to your Facebook account you can link the contents of our site to your Facebook profile.

Routinely deletion and blocking of personal data
The person responsible for the processing of data processes and stores personal data of the person concerned only for the period needed for the storage purpose, or if this is provided for in laws and regulations of European legislators to which the responsible person for the processing is subject to.
If the purpose of storage ceases or if the storage period prescribed by European legislators expires, personal data will be routinely blocked or deleted according to legal provisions.
